I am a mathematician turned elementary school teacher and curriculum developer.
This blog is about the educational adventures I have with my daughters, my students at the Main Line Classical Academy, as well as at the Golden Key Russian School, where I teach enrichment math to kids aged 4-10. I enjoy thinking about presenting mathematical concepts to young children in exciting and engaging ways. They can handle so much, if only we expose them!

Hey Ms Fradkin,
Hope you’re having a great day!
I’m doing an expert roundup on my site and I think many new Math teachers using education technology products in their classroom like me would love to know your answer to this question :
If you could only use 3 Education technology tools/apps/sites for your teaching which 3 tools would you choose? e.g. WolframAlpha, KhanAcademy and Inside Mathematics.
Thanks in advance!
As soon as I’m done compiling the results, I would inform and link back to your blog.
Thank you!
Ishan

Ok, I’ll take the bait and offer my answer:
(1) pencil+paper, though maybe I’m cheating to call this combo one piece of technology?
(2) playing cards.
(3) dice. Can make do with the traditional hexahedrons, but even better if I can include a whole bag with different shaped dice.
Of course, your mileage will vary. I wouldn’t be surprised if these recommendations get attacked by that whole measuring tape-scale-clock crowd that puts measurement above all else.

Hi Sasha
Saw you on Redddit…as I’m designing math tools.
I specialize in creating math helpers that are “differentiated” to many challenge levels per unit. I teach and train.
Send me an email and I’ll send you a few samples. I love helping teachers.

Hi Sasha,
I’ve been following you for sometime, and wanted to reach out and say hello.
My husband and I work together on creating educational math video games
and I’d like to share one with you which I think your kids may be interested in.
Please let me know if you are interested.
Looking forward to connecting,
Doris
