Geometry and Robots

Yesterday we received a set of MathLink Cubes in the mail and Katie has been obsessively playing with them for the past two evenings.  The first evening we mostly built mathematical structures with her and I used the cubes as an excuse to talk more about the geometry of numbers with her.  This was a great sequel to this lesson on the subject.

ImageToday I wasn’t hovering over her with math questions, and so she was able to peacefully make this:
